My Experience of a CTF Competition
Intro : Hello Hackers today I will Discuss about my CTF competition that I participated Recently. I am talking about NCIIPC Hackathon. So let’s jump into it.
NCIIPC Hackathon is a Jeopardy-style competition where individuals or teams can participate. The competition spans three days and features a variety of challenges including Web, Forensics, PWN, Reverse Engineering, and even Pentesting, resembling platforms like HackTheBox and TryHackMe.
My Experience :
Participating in this CTF was both challenging and rewarding. While the initial challenges seemed relatively easy, the difficulty increased as I progressed. Despite my expertise in web security, I encountered challenges in other categories such as Memory Forensics, where I struggled to obtain flags due to my limited experience.
Nevertheless, I managed to solve several challenges in Reverse Engineering, Forensics, and PWN categories. In the Pentest section, I successfully obtained one user flag out of two machines. However, I found the challenges to be significantly tougher than those encountered in typical CTF boxes, leading to moments of frustration.
Despite the challenges, achieving three or four flags filled me with a sense of accomplishment. Ultimately, I ranked 204th overall, with hopes of advancing to the next round for those who are selected.
Conclusion :
Overall, the NCIIPC Hackathon was an awesome experience. It provided me with an opportunity to learn new skills and enhance my problem-solving abilities. Despite being my first CTF competition, I thoroughly enjoyed it and embraced a “Try Harder” mentality throughout the event.
So that’s it…. Thanks for Reading!!!
